First pour off any settled oil from the top. For gumbo, scoop desired amount of roux out of jar and heat in pot as the base for your gumbo or gravy. For best results, dissolve the roux in a small amount of cold water or broth first, then add it to your simmering pot. Adjust the amount of roux based on your desired consistency; more roux will create a thicker gravy or sauce. *Refrigerate after opening.
